Dagger, Dirk

Sidearm, Military, Scotland, Dagger, Blade

The traditional dagger of Scotland. These are fairly similar to many European daggers of the late medieval to Early Modern era. Strongly made, usually double edged, usually fairly long (8"-12" blade is pretty common). They do not normally have quillions or any hand protection. Hilt is often made of dark colored wood, carved into interesting paterns. Bog oak is a common material.
