Poll hammer

The poll hammer was a variant of the pollaxe (see Pollaxe) which was configured with a spike on one side and a hammerhead or beak with one or more prongs on the other. Two famous types of poll-hammers included bec de corbin (‘crows beak’), and the lucerne Hammer, featuring a double-beak, still effectively hammer heads just designed to concentrate the force like a nut-cracker, to break open armor.
