Zweihander
Sword, Longsword, Blade, German, Landsknecht, Swiss, Latin Europe
A very large 'true' two handed sword up to six feet long. These are used by infantry rather than cavalry, and began to appear in the late 15th Century, initially in the German speaking areas of Central Europe, but they spread into Italy and what are now Spain and Portugal. They were sometimes used by elite troops and bodyguards.
